WPO member Anne-Marie Faiola, CEO of Bramble Berry Inc., had the opportunity to attend the Olympics in Vancouver this year, as part of Metro Vancouver. Metro Vancouver is a group of 22 municipalities in the greater Vancouver area who came together to attract business investment to the region. Anne-Marie was able to attend due to their initiative to bring qualified businesses to see what Vancouver has to offer the business community.
While there, Anne-Marie attended receptions to meet with representatives from the Vancouver area to learn about the region and discuss opportunities for working together in the future. She also went to several learning sessions on how to best do business in Vancouver, including the tax advantages, social advantages, and the business climate.
On her last day there, Anne-Marie attended an education session planned by Metro Vancouver featuring three speakers. They covered topics ranging from doing business in Canada, the US and Canadian monetary policy, and the great support that the Canadian government shows for entrepreneurial efforts.
