The American Business Ethics Award (ABEA) recognizes ethical practices in the American business marketplace. This award is given to companies with high standards of ethical behavior in everyday business as well as in crises or challenges they face.
Nominations for the 2008 award are being accepted until March 31 and can be made by a customer, client, employee, consultant, vendor or any other person who believes the company displays high standards of ethics.
There are three categories for the award; large companies (2,500 + employees), mid-sized companies (250-2,500 employees) and small companies (fewer than 250 employees).
Each category will be evaluated by judges who represent business, academia, public service, media, consulting and the ethics community.
