While I felt that women were again underrepresented at the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards, I am proud to recognize TWO WPO members who were regional Entrepreneurs of the Year (Amy Langer and Barbara Zimonja) and Lee Ann Howard who was a regional finalist in Cleveland! Please let us know if you were also recognized as a regional finalist!

Barbara Zimonja is the president and CEO of Premier Resorts International and a new member of the Salt Lake City chapter. Premier Resorts specializes in Resort Property Management, including rentals of privately owned luxury homes and condominiums, conference services, homeowner association management, travel arrangements and consulting. Lee Ann Howard is the CEO of Howard & O’Brien Associates and a member of the Cleveland Chapter. Howard & O’Brien Associates focuses on executive search assignments for diverse domestic and global clients.
The E&Y awards are given to entrepreneurs who have “demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.” Congratulations to Amy and Barbara! We hope to see many more WPO members as awardees in 2007! So, if you have any ideas on methods to drive up nominations, please please share them here.
