Keeping Employees Motivated
During tough economic times, it can be difficult for employees to stay motivated. They may feel discouraged, or fear that their job is in jeopardy. However, as a leader, it is important to communicate with employees and motivate them to continue working hard. By creating a cohesive team in the workplace, employees will feel more comfortable and confident even when times are tough. The Wall Street Journal has compiled a list of tips on how to keep employees motivated;
>Keep your door open, be honest with workers, and let them know that you are available when they need to talk.
>Praise and recognize hard work, this can be as simple as writing an e-mail to recognize the work of employees, simple gestures can go a long way.
>Keep your own worries to yourself, sometimes if employees see their leader is worried, they will panic. Share with your employees, but don’t feel like you have to share too much information.
